Enjoy the magic of Citroën's ride, with its soft yet precise feel, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and Solex carburetor...! You'll never find such a uniquely characterful sports sedan again...! This well-maintained French neo-classic, the late model Citroën BX16 TRS, is a potent dose that leads drivers to "catch the Citroën bug"...!

Once you catch a glimpse of its charm, you’ll be ensnared, unable to escape its deep allure. Even when faced with frequent breakdowns, you’ll never tire of it; instead, you’ll overcome these challenges and strive to delve deeper into its captivating essence. “Building cars that are ten years ahead of their time for twenty years…” This unparalleled history of Citroën’s unique technological development began with the introduction of the hydropneumatic suspension in the 1955 DS. This legacy has been meticulously passed down through successive Citroën models, eventually reaching perfection. The “soft yet precise” magic of the Citroën ride, achieved through the use of gas-filled spheres and oil pressure instead of traditional metal springs, envelops those who experience it in an indescribable allure, leaving them permanently afflicted with the “Citroën disease”.

Today, we introduce the owner and their 1990 late-model Citroën BX16 TRS, sharing such an “enchanting relationship.” In the owner’s vast garage, a collection of neo-classic Citroëns stands proudly. Just outside the garage lies an endless stretch of winding roads that evoke the French Alps against the backdrop of the beautiful Japanese Alps, providing the perfect environment for enjoying a Citroën. Since his youth, Citroën has always been a part of his life. The owner, having gone through dozens of various Citroëns, has honed the art of the “honeymoon with French cars.” His lifestyle, enriched by years of inspiring stories, captivates anyone who beholds this car.

The 1990 Citroën BX16 TRS, equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, showcases its exceptional performance the more you drive it. The owner, well-versed in the art of a "honeymoon with Citroën," has meticulously carried out preventive maintenance, making this enchanting vehicle one that boasts perfect condition at present.

Captivated by the rally machines that excelled in the WRC during his youth, the owner once took his newly purchased 1986 Levin to a specialty shop the day after delivery, where it was equipped with necessary rally gear such as a roll bar, LSD, shocks, and under-guards. Actively participating in competitions, he naturally ventured into the automotive business world.

Eventually, he became independent, dealing with imported cars, especially 4WD vehicles that could conquer vast natural landscapes, a reflection of his past experiences. However, his private automotive passion remained centered around French cars, particularly Renault and Citroën.

In the expansive garage he built himself, long-term stored cars like the Renault 4, Citroën Xantia, and two beloved Citroën BXs are lined up, waiting for restoration. The 1990 Citroën BX16 TRS featured today fully brings out the best of its compact 1.6L engine, driven masterfully by the owner with rally experience, appreciating every sound and vibration of the car and enjoying its sporty sedan nature.

To ensure long-term enjoyment of Citroëns, he has meticulously built a trusting relationship with a specialized Citroën shop, conducting thorough repairs and preventive maintenance. This diligent approach ensures that his BX16 TRS remains in top condition, never unexpectedly breaking down, and constantly being refined for everyday use.

During this interview, it became evident that the success of the Citroën BX was not just due to its modern features, but also because it preserved the unique Citroën spirit. The current owner’s passion for Citroëns has deeply influenced the care and maintenance of this particular BX16TRS, resulting in a car that is both reliable and true to its heritage.

The owner’s decision to part with this car, driven by the necessity to clear out the garage, was made with a heavy heart. Throughout the interview, the owner’s deep love for Citroën shone through, as he proudly shared stories about his beloved BX.
