This is a clear testament to how Sir Alec Issigonis’ visionary and innovative ideas have evolved over half a century into this remarkable BMW Mini.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of seeing the owner’s meticulously crafted garage, a place brimming with passion. Its three-dimensional structure offers a panoramic view of a magnificent collection that showcases the pinnacle of automotive excellence from the 1950s to the 1970s. The owner, deeply connected to their cherished vehicles, actively embraces an enthusiast lifestyle.

Upon closer discussion, it became apparent that the owner has an impressive automotive history. A true connoisseur who fully enjoys the allure of classic cars that reflect the culture of their respective countries. When it came to choosing a daily driver, after carefully considering various options, including domestic vehicles, they eventually settled on this final model of the first-generation BMW Mini Cooper S, purchased from a local dealer.

One of the first things the owner did after purchasing the car was to convert it into a two-seater to easily accommodate several golf bags. Although the BMW Mini allows the rear seat to fold down, keeping it folded long-term could cause damage. So, the owner removed the rear seat and stored it safely in the garage. In the spacious cargo area, they cut a custom board to fit the floor shape, covering it with plush fabric, and created a high-quality floorboard that they crafted themselves with professional-like precision.

This two-seater conversion had the added benefit of reducing weight, enhancing the sporty image of the BMW Mini Cooper S even further! Aside from swapping the exhaust for a vehicle inspection-compliant one from Arculey, the Mini Cooper S remains entirely original. The owner enjoys the nimble handling, expertly manipulating the 6-speed manual transmission, and revels in the boosted high-pitched exhaust notes produced by the Arculey exhaust. As they press their right foot down to enjoy the sound, the supercharger, with its zero-lag, delivers that characteristic supercharged acceleration, and before they know it, they’ve arrived at their destination. It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable experience, savoring every moment of the journey.
